Sidney "Peanut" Robinson

Sidney "Peanut" Robinson, 68, of Sandusky, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 15, 2018.

Sidney, or "Peanut" as he was affectionately called, was born on March 16, 1949 to the late Roy and Gracie Robinson in Waynesboro, MS.

He attended Riverview High School in Waynesboro, MS. He was employed by Farrell Cheek and Steel Company and Sandusky Cabinets.

Peanut was a faithful and dedicated member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church where he held numerous positions serving as the Financial Director, Chairman of the Trustees Ministry for many years, and also was a member of the Male Chorus. Peanut was also instrumental in the remodeling of the old kitchen and successfully created a finance office and a secretary office, along with other projects around the church. He loved his church and his work ethic demonstrated it. He had a seriousness about him that startled many, but his sense of humor was one of a kind.

He leaves to forever cherish his memory his devoted and loving wife of 49 years, Doris "Dot" (McGill) Robinson; sisters, Gracie Lee Hardy, of Waynesboro, MS., Bettie Jean Lee, of Chicago, Bobbie Matthews, Shella Ruth Robinson, and Gertha Robinson, all of Sandusky, Bertha McCant and Earnestine Robinson, both of Mobile, AL; God-Daughter; JaShelyn Monique Alexander; Three God-Grandchildren, Jerrell Wells, Le'Yah Harris, and Sinaiyah Harris; special friends, Mary Amison, Raymond Neadham, Earl Brown, and John L. Butler; Sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Gracie Robinson; and brothers, Johnnie, Roy Jr., Undraye, Willie, and Benny Robinson.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 25 in Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 224 Dixie Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. on Friday in the church. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
