Dwight Thomas Harris, Sr., 65, Sandusky, died Sunday, September 4, 2011, at his residence.
He was born on April 14, 1946 in Sandusky, and was a 1964 graduate of Sandusky High School.
He was employed by Sandusky Ford for 38 years, retiring in 2006.
He was a member of the U.A.W. local 913.
He is survived by his children, Monica (Anthony) Moss, Toledo, OH, Michelle Harris, Dwight Harris, Jr., Nakita Harris, and Tia Brown, all of Sandusky; a special daughter, Tracey Dennis Tucker, Sandusky; grandchildren, Brice Murphy, Cameron Harris, Ashley Harris, Chelsey Harris, Corey Harris, Haley Harris, and Jaiya Murphy; sister, Camille Swain, Sandusky; brothers, Anthony Harris and Leonard Harris, Jr., both of Sandusky; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts , uncles, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Ruby (Simmons) Harris; and a son, Darrell Harris.
Friends may call on Friday, September 9, 2011, from 10:30 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. (Noon) in St. Stephen A.M.E. Church, 312 Neil St., Sandusky. Rev. Barbara Huston is the pastor and Rev. Thomas Darden Sr. will provide the eulogy. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen A.M.E. Church.
