Marion Elizabeth (Oliver) Werner

Marion Elizabeth (Oliver) Werner, lovingly known as Jib, 99, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 after a brief illness.

She was born on February 22, 1918 to Warren and Marion Oliver.

She was a 1937 graduate of Sandusky High School where she played the baritone in the band. The band is where she met her husband, Wayne Werner. They had one son William, who passed away in 2015. She spent her life following the bands, first her husband's, then her son's, and grandson's and most recently her daughter-in-law's bands.

She worked many years in the Erie County Courthouse where she helped set up the Adult Probation Department. She was very close to her family, especially after her husband Wayne passed away in 1959. Her best friends were her two sisters, Betty and Ruth. All three were very active at the First Presbyterian Church their entire lives. In later years they were known as the Three Sisters. All three lived into their 90's.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Barbara Werner; her grandson, Billy (Christy) Werner; three great-grandchildren, Griffin, Lacey, and Charlie; four nephews, Bob (Michelle) Reardon; Ben (Bonnie) Lindsley; Don (Caron) Lindsley, Neal (Mary) Lindsley; and one niece, Ann (Harry) Wright; as well as many great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son, parents, and great-granddaughter, Gracie Jane Werner; her sisters; and brothers-in-law, Howard Nemitz and Eugene Rex Reardon.

Friends may call Monday, February 19, 2018 from 9:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM in the First Presbyterian Church, 265 Jackson Street, Sandusky. The Rev. Hal Mills will officiate. Burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
