Sam J. Busco, 67, of Milan, Ohio, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on Sunday, February 18, 2018 in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
He was born in Sharon, PA on July 12, 1950 to the late Nick J. and Rose Lucy (Gagliardi) Busco.
A 1968 graduate of Farrell Area High School, Sam received his Bachelors degree from Clarion University and his Masters degree from Bowling Green State University. He was an educator in Norwalk, Canton, and Vermilion, Ohio until his retirement in 2003. After his retirement, he devoted his life to being a full time "Papa" to his five grandchildren.
Sam is survived by his daughters, Dana (Joshua) L. Jones, of Lake Wylie, SC, and Julie (Frank, III) Sirse, of Monroeville, OH; grandchildren, Alexa and Daniel Jones, Caleb and Connor Dunn, and Owen Sirse; brother, Nick R. Busco, of Sharon, PA; sister, Patricia M. Hassell, of Grove City, PA; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents Nick and Rose Busco, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Anthony Busco and numerous aunts and uncles.
At Sam's request, he will be cremated and a private family service will take place in his hometown in PA. Friends and family are invited for a memorial gathering from 11:30-2 on Thursday, February 22, 2018 in the Hickory Bar & Grille, 1645 N. Hermitage Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.
