Gertrude Davis Jackson

Gertrude Davis Jackson, 92, Sandusky, transitioned from this earthly life and entered her eternal home in heaven on February 18 2018, in Eden Springs West Campus, Green Springs.

She was born January 1, 1926 in Thomasville, North Carolina to the late Elder William Charlie Davis and Everow Brown Davis.

Gertrude attended Thomasville Public Schools. She moved to Sandusky with her Husband, Furman in 1953. She accepted the Lord at an early age and continued throughout her life and became a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She worked as a housekeeper for several families in Sandusky. Gertrude was fondly referred to as Gert by family and friends.

She enjoyed spending time with those she loved and cherished.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Lorraine Jackson of Jacksonville, North Carolina; sons, Lavon (Bernadette) Jackson, Lorain, OH, Jerry Jackson, Sandusky, and Michael Jackson, Trotwood OH; grandchildren, Pastor Jason Jackson, Lorain, OH, Kevin and Keith Amos, both of Jacksonville, NC, Miles (Victoria) Jackson, Huber Heights, OH and Caleb Jackson, Trotwood, OH; great- grandchildren, Kylin and Elijah Jackson, both of Huber Heights, OH; sister, Rheba Ward, Coatesville, PA; sister-in-law, Montana Davis, Winston-Salem, NC; special daughters, Shelley Allen, Huron, OH, and Lynn Dupree, Elyria, OH; a host of nieces, nephews and special friend Jo Ann Harkness.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Furman; daughter, Faye Cathy Jackson; grandson, Kenji Jackson; brothers, W.C. Davis, Charlie Davis, Paul Davis, Elder William D. Davis, Howard Davis, Lester Davis, and Troy Davis; sisters, Christine Reddick, Zora Beatrice Davis, Vanilla Ridgeway and Letha Davis.

Friends may call on Saturday, February 24, 2018, from 10 A.M. until time of the Homegoing Celebration at 12 P.M. Noon, in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce Street, Sandusky. Rev. Clayton E. Howard will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
