Rita M. (Koby) Flewelling, age 68, of Castalia, died Thursday night , Sept. 8, 2011, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 15, 1943, in Tiffin, OH, and was a 1961 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and the Margaretta Mama Bears. She enjoyed gardening and being with her grandchildren.
Rita is survived by her husband Dale, to whom she was married for 41 years; two sons Matthew (Jenny) Flewelling of Clyde, and Michael Flewelling of North Olmsted, OH; one step-son Dale (Andrea) Flewelling of Sandusky; 6 grandchildren Jared, Kyle, Anthony, Garrett, Mason, and Gianna; one sister Donna Spitler of Findlay, OH; two brothers Herman (Saundra) Koby of Westerville, OH, and Robert (Jane) Koby of Tiffin, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Mildred (Bentz) Koby; two infants Brian and Martin; and stillborn baby Elaine.
Friends may call from 4-8 pm Monday, Sept, 12, 2011, in the Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky, with the Rev. David Nuss officiating. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
