Delma "Del" J. (Glover) Bretz

Delma "Del" J. (Glover) Bretz, 82, Huron, passed away after a brief illness on March 3, 2018, in Stein Hospice Care Center.

She was born on October 17, 1935 to Willie and Irene (Chism) Glover in Dyess, Arkansas.

She was a 1953 graduate of Dyess High School. Following graduation, she moved to Washington D.C. to work for the FBI from 1953 - 1955.

She married Raymond L. Bretz on October 28, 1955 and they moved back to his home town of Sandusky, Ohio.
She worked for Sandusky City Schools as an elementary librarian, retiring after 25 years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sandusky, for 45 years where she served as president of the Women's Society and North Central Association of Women. She has been a member of the Sandusky Church of the Nazarene for the past 15 years.

One of her favorite things to do was going to flea markets and garage sales, collecting antique sets of children's dishes. At one time she had over 100 complete sets. She and Ray also enjoyed going on many different bus trips all over the country.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ray of over 62 years, daughter, Susan (David) Zorn of Huron and son, Allan (Yvonne) Bretz of Worthington, Ohio. Siblings, William (Joyce) Glover, Gleenda (Neal) Stevens, Wendell "Wink" Glover, Pat (Darrell) Donaldson, Danny (Vicki) Glover and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Elmer and Marjorie (Olds) Bretz, sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Bretz) Rogers, Lois (Bretz) Simpson and Joyce (Bretz) Christian Faulhaber.

Friends may call on Monday, March 12, 2018, from 9 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. in the Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene, 1617 Milan Rd., Sandusky, Ohio with Pastor Ryan Brown officiating.
Graveside services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sandusky Church of the Nazarene Children's Camping Program, 1617 Milan Rd., Sandusky, Ohio 44870, Stein Hospice Services, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870 or The Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior St. Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
