Theodore Gerald Tigges,Sr., 76, residing in Sandusky, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at University Hospitals of Cleveland after a brief illness.
Ted was born on July 21, 1941 in Sandusky, OH to the late Albert and Alberta (Brandt) Tigges.
Ted attended Sandusky High School. He worked at Stierhoff Bros. Moving and Cartage Inc.as a truck driver for 36 years, and was the owner and operator of Ann's Cakes & Catering with his wife, Ann, for over 30 years. In his spare time, Ted enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pinochle and traveling with his family to Casinos.
Ted is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann (Rugg) Tigges; children, Ted Tigges Jr., Shelley Jones and Tim (Geri) Tigges; seven grandchildren, Nichole, Kim, Tyler, Dylan "Giovanni," Monicann, Katherine and Jenna; brother, Bill (Char) Tigges; sister-in-law, Donna Tigges; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Ted is preceded in death by his two brothers, Donald and Duane; and his son-in-law, Jeffrey Jones.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 11:00 am at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky with Pastor Amy Little presiding. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky, OH.
