Dr. Richard O. Davies, 87, of North Fairfield, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Stein Hospice, in Sandusky, Ohio.
He was born April 21, 1930, to the late Howard and Iona Davies, in Mansfield, Ohio.
Dr. Davies graduated from Madison High School (Mansfield, Ohio) in 1948, and Pre Med from Kenyon College, in Gambier, Ohio. He graduated from Kirksville Osteopathic Medical Center. Dr. Davies served, after being drafted, in the U.S. Marine Corp. (Korean Years) 1950 - 1952.
Dr. Davies was certified in Family Practice and began his practice at Sandusky Memorial Hospital. He then joined Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, Ohio. He was past Secretary, Treasurer, and Chairman for two years of the Credentials Committee. His medical practice remained in North Fairfield, Ohio, and surrounding area, where he retired in 2005, after 45 years of practice. He attended the Norwalk First United Methodist Church.
Dr. Davies is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret (Dillon) Davies, and three daughters and their spouses: Ann and Vernon Baxter, Jane and Dean Sweeting, and Melissa and Jeff Watson, as well as six grandchildren and five great-grand-children.
Dr. Davies also has a surviving brother, David J. Davies (Eleanor), residing in Mansfield, Ohio.
At Dr. Davies request, there will be no calling hours, or service.
