Thomas J. Torrey, Sandusky, died Friday, April 6, 2018, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
He was born in Erie, PA, to the late Rodney and Mary Katherine (Sheehan) Torrey, and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was self-employed, working with computers.
Thomas loved fishing and hunting, and traveled all 50 states with his wife, Mary Helen.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Helen (Gorzynski) Torrey; children, Cherise Crable, Collins, OH, Lynn (Jeff) Shuryan, Knoxville, TN, James Torrey, Dayville, CT, Brian (Christina) Torrey, Malvern, PA, and Kelley Torrey, Seekonk, MA; grandchildren, Cortney Crable, Carissa Crable, Ian Torrey, and Taric Torrey; two great-grandchildren; a step great-grandchild; sister, Mary Ann (Jay) Smith, Erie, PA; brother, Timothy Torrey, Erie, PA; and a brother-in-law, Andrew (Diane) Gorzynski, Erie, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 12 P.M. Noon in St. Mary Catholic Church, 38 W. League St., Norwalk, OH 44857. A Celebration of his Life will be held also on June 9, 2018 from 1-4 P.M. in the Huron Lagoons Marina, 100 Laguna Dr., Huron, OH 44839 and in Erie Pennsylvania at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the March of Dimes, Stein Hospice Service, or to the Salvation Army.
