Ronald C. Wildenthaler, Sr., 72, Castalia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
He was born on April 6, 1939 in Sandusky, and was a 1957 graduate of Sandusky High School.
He was employed by Ohio Edison for 35 years, retiring in 1996.
Ron was a member of the Dads of the V.F.W. Post 2529, Sandusky, loved traveling, gambling trips, his computer, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol (Vassallo) Wildenthaler, whom he married on June 15, 1957; children, James (Ginny) Wildenthaler, Omaha, TX, Ronald (Tina) Wildenthaler, Jr., Connie Wiggins, and Cheryl (Jerry) Goff all of Sandusky; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy (Swank) Wildenthaler; son-in-law, Terry Wiggins; and father and mother-in-law, James and Mary Vassallo.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 17, 2011, at 11 A.M. in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Sandusky.
