Robert D. Thomas, age 31, of Clyde, and previously of Prairie Village, KS, passed Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, in the University of Toledo Medical Center.
He was born March 9, 1980, in Kansas City, MO, and attended Sandusky High School and Shawnee Mission East High School, in Kansas. He was a star goalie on both varsity soccer teams. He was employed by Fultz and Sons, Inc. in Clyde.
Rob is survived by his father William (Janet) Thomas of Clyde; his mother Mary Henshaw of Arlington, TX; one sister Jennifer (Christopher) Tymeson of Topeka, KS; 3 brothers William (Teresa) Thomas of Overland Park, KS, Daniel (Becky) Thomas of Olathe, KS, and Scott Thomas of Overland Park, KS; step-sister Amy (Michael) Dirlam of St. Joseph, MI; maternal grandmother Mildred Crane of Arlington, TX; several nieces, nephews, and aunts.
He was preceded in death by his step-father Edward Henshaw.
There will be no visitation. Cremation will be preceded by organ donation. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, September 16, 2011, at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, OH. Mr. Jeff Trapp will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Rob's name to St. Jude's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Plaza, Memphis, TN 38105.
