Martha J. Waters, 89, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018 in Norwalk Memorial Home.
She was born April 29, 1928 in Wellington, Ohio, to the late Herb and Myrtle M. (Pifer) Hawley.
Martha came to Norwalk after graduating from Deefield High School in 1946. She worked for Norwalk Truck Line from 1946 to 1953, and went to work for the Huron County Health Department in 1970, and retired from there in 1998.
Martha enjoyed sewing, roller skating, ice skating, ball room dancing, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was a former Brownie Troop Leader, and was a member, and past worthy matron, of Queen Esther Chapter #15 Order of the Eastern Star.
Martha is survived by her children, Brenda S. Waters of New York City, New York, and Connie J. Kluding of Norwalk, Ohio, by her grandchildren, Brandon Kluding, and Kelsi Kluding.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Waters, by her siblings, Gerald and Howard Hawley, Margaret Atkins, and Naomi Stearns, by her grandson, Nicholas J. Kluding, and by her son in law, David Kluding.
Friends may call on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, 21Firelands Blvd., Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. David Comstock will officiate. Internment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk, Ohio.
