William A. Croteau Sr., age 93, formerly of Sandusky, Ohio passed away on May 5, 2018 at his daughter's residence in Massillon, Ohio.
He was born on September 1, 1924 in Hartford, Connecticut.
William was a 1942 graduate of Buckley High School, Harford, CT and a 1950 graduate of the University of Hartford. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. William retired from New Departure in 1987 as an industrial engineer. He was a program director for Junior Achievement for 20 years.
William is survived by his wife, Jacqueline T. (Mochon) Croteau, to whom he was married for 72 years; two daughters, Shirley (Bruce) Walker of Massillon, OH and Carol Croteau of Bristol, Ct; two sons, William A. (Sandra) Croteau Jr. of Humansville, MO and Bruce (Sharon) Croteau of Sandusky, OH; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Including his parents, Chester A. and Elizabeth (Dobbins), William is preceded in death by a brother, a sister, and granddaughter, Kristen Walker.
Friends may call on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be Friday, May 11, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park with Military Honors.
