It is with great sadness that the family of Marlene A. Ritter, 81, Sandusky, announces her sudden passing on Friday, May 11, 2018, in Parkvue Healthcare Center.
A lifelong resident of Sandusky, Ohio, Marlene worked for Dixon Ticonderoga Company for 47 years in the crayon & chalk department.
Marlene will be remembered for devoting her life to bringing others happiness, as it brought her much joy. She spent most of her years enjoying good food, going to garage sales, traveling to craft shows, shopping, & baking cookies. She had a passion for listening to country & gospel music, watching her favorite daytime game shows & American Idol.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed listening to the Sunday Worship on her radio. She was also a big fan of watching and cheering on the Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Cavaliers.
During her recent stay at Parkvue Nursing Home, she enjoyed participating in Bingo, going on many outings, and joining in on the activities with the many friends she made with the staff & residents. She was a lively spirit who was always smiling. Spending time with her family was the most important, and she will be deeply missed.
She is survived by, her nephew, Mark (Kathy) Pisarsky; nieces, Teresa Pisarsky & Karen (Whaley) (Aaron) Slaby; great nieces, Laurie (Warner) (Adam) Meyers, Ashley Warner, and Kristen (Pisarsky) Stack; great nephews, Matthew Pisarsky and Daren Warner; great-great-nieces and nephews, McKenzie, Corbin, Weston, Tatum, Peyton, Koltyn, Mason and Presley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elva (Horn) Kapahnke; brothers. William Kapahnke, and Robert Kapahnke; sisters, Alice (Kapahnke) (Alex) Pisarsky, Ruth (Kapahnke) (Richard) Whaley.
Friends may call on Friday, May 18, 2018, from 5 P.M. until time of funeral services at 6 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Dr. Eric Bodenstab, Zion Lutheran Church will officiate.
