Eugene C. "Gene" Manlet, 65, of Bellevue passed away peacefully Thursday, June 28, 2018 in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky following a brief illness.
He was born April 6, 1953 in Bellevue and was a 1972 graduate of Bellevue High School.
Gene was employed at Sawmill Creek. Prior to this, he was employed for several years at the former Armstrong Air Conditioning. He enjoyed landscaping and was an avid Cleveland sports fan, but what he loved more than anything was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Diane (Hammersmith) Manlet of Bellevue; three sons, Chad (Kelly) Manlet of Bellevue, Nicholas Manlet of Norwalk, and Caleb (Alivia) Manlet of Bellevue; three grandchildren, Payten, Trent, and Amaya Manlet all of Bellevue; siblings, Helen Smith and Bob Manlet both of Norwalk, Carol Daniels, Cheryl Shaver, and Jackie Shelley all of Bellevue; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bertha (Missler) Manlet; and two sisters, Mary Stieber and Betty Mann.
Friends may call Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at The Chapel, 4444 Galloway Road, Sandusky and Monday, July 2, 2018 from 9:30 AM until time of funeral service at 10:30 AM at The Chapel. Pastor Todd Nielsen will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Chapel or Stein Hospice Services, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
