Barbara Ann (Truitt) Spears, 58, residing in Sandusky, passed away Monday afternoon, July 9, 2018 at Stein Hospice Care Center.
Barbara was born on March 20, 1960 in Huntington, WV to the late Thomas Oshal and Pricilla (Vanscoy) Truitt.
Barbara was a nurse's aide at the Ohio Veterans Home. She was a member of Wayside Temple. Barb loved spending time with her grandchildren and also enjoyed gardening.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 39 years, Rick Spears. She is also survived by her children, Mandy (Brandon) Ehlers, Richard (Autumne) Spears and Sarah Spears; grandchildren, BJ, Annie, Luke, Christian and Izzy Ehlers, Alena and Samuel Spears, Stasia and Nevaeh Strack and Jayce Posey; brothers, Timothy, Thomas and Daniel Truitt and a large extended family.
In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Truitt-Norcross.
Friends may call on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 10:00 am. Pastor Rusty Yost of Wayside Temple will officiate. Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery, Sandusky.
