Ruth L. Oblender, 94, of Milan, Ohio, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
She was born April 3, 1924 in Fitchville Township, Ohio, to the late Kenneth D. and Mary M. (Moffit) McPherson, and was a lifelong area resident.
Ruth was a 1942 graduate of New London High School, and a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Norwalk, Ohio. She enjoyed fishing, boating, sewing, playing the piano, organ, and accordion.
Ruth is survived by her son and daughter in law, Stephen T. and Betty Oblender of Milan, Ohio, by 3 grandsons, Kenneth, John, and Charles Oblender, and by her sister in law, Emma Jane McPherson of Norwalk, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George G. Oblender in 2009, and by her brother, Lloyd J. McPherson in 2005.
Friends may call on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Avenue, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Ann Marshall will officiate. Interment will be in North Fairfield Cemetery.
