Else (Kuschmirz) Gerold, 87, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday evening, July 19, 2018 at Parkvue Health Care Center after a brief illness.
Else was born on May 2, 1931 in Frankfurt, Germany to the late Karl and Marie (Konayrka) Kuschmirz.
Else retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1990 after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Sandusky Eagles #444, VFW #2529, Sandusky Amvets #29, Sandusky Elks Lodge #285 and the Red HAt Society. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing crafts, flower arranging, gambling, camping and spending time with her family and friends.
Else is survived by her daughter, Susan Burns of Mesa, AZ; sons, Michael E. (Denise) and Theodore W. Gerold both of Mesa, AZ and Christopher J. (Dawn) Gerold of Flagstaff, AZ; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Roger (Jackie) Gerold of Van Wert, OH and Frank Trautman of Sandusky and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Else is preceded in death by her husband, Dwayne E. Gerold in 2016; son, Patrick D. Gerold; two brothers and her favorite dog, Emily.
A Celebration of Life will be held and announced at a later date. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
