Daniel Thomas Malloy, 79, residing in Sandusky, passed away Friday morning, July 20, 2018 at Parkvue Health Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Dan was born on April 20, 1939 in Cleveland, OH to the late Frank J and Rosemary (Pekarek) Malloy.
Dan graduated from Brookside High School in 1957 and attended Bowling Green State University. He was an electrician and electrical supervisor at American Ship Building for 20 years and a national equipment sales manager at Wikel Manufacturing for 9 years. Previous to his retirement, he was an electrician at General Fabrication Corporation.
Dan was an avid skier with Cast & Keg Ski Club and Sandusky Ski Club, participating in many of the ski club events and trips as well as being 26 year member of the Sandusky Yacht Club. He also thoroughly enjoyed golfing with the Thunderbird Senior Men's golf league, spending time with his family and friends, and he most especially loved Face Timing with his great-granddaughter and his new great-grandson. He was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Dan was well known to be a stubborn Irishman.
Dan is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marjorie (Flory) Malloy, whom he married on May 30, 1981. He is also survived by his daughter, Andrea Malloy of Avon; granddaughter, Angela (Joe) Zampieri Bodenstein; great-grandchildren, Isla and Greyson; step-children Kimbra (Karl) Reinbold, Kurt (Annemarie) Smith and Wendye Everman; step-granddaughter Hayley Corso; sisters, Patricia Janke, Ellen Meckley and Rosemary Malloy, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Dan is preceded in death by his son, Daniel Patrick Malloy and brothers, Frank Jr. and William Malloy.
A private family Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Father Monte Hoyles will officiate. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family would also like to express their deepest gratitude to all the physicians and support staff that was instrumental in Dan's care. They also would like to thank the staff at Firelands Regional Medical Center, along with the staff of Parkview Health Care Center and the Perkins Township EMS.
