Richard A. Nestor, 78, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
He was born August 7, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Francis E. and Elizabeth M. (Day) Nestor.
Richard was raised in Clarksfield, Ohio, and graduated from New London High School in 1957. He was a veteran of the United States Air National Guard serving during the Berlin Crisis.
Richard was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, past Faithful Navigator, and Grand Knight. He was a member, usher, and Eucharistic Minister at St. Paul Catholic Church, Norwalk, Ohio, and was a member of Ken Bur Bell Post #41 American Legion, Eagles Aerie #711, Norwalk, Huron Eagles Aerie #2875, and was a former Norwalk Jaycee.
Richard enjoyed traveling, going to the Casino, golf, bowling, and following his grandchildren's sporting events.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Darlaine (Cooke) Nestor of Norwalk, Ohio, by his daughters and sons in law, Kellie and Tony Steyns of Bay Village, Ohio, Kasey and Troy Spaar of Norwalk, Ohio, Pat and Joel Hipp of Norwalk, Ohio, and Anne York of Las Vegas, Nevada. Richard is also survived by his grandchildren, Chase, Lydia, and Sophia Steyns, Corey (Theresa) Spaar, Katie and Kelsey Spaar, Jen (Bob) Sullivan, Drew (Courtney) Hipp, and Alex Shivers, by his great grandchildren, James Sullivan, Harper Hipp, and Kennedy Spaar, by his brother, F. Paul Nestor of Zanesville, Ohio, and by his sister in law, Margaret Nestor of New London, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his son in law, Mark York, and by his brothers, William E. and Thomas J. Nestor.
Friends may call on Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
