Debra "Deb" A. (Muehlfeld) Wright 68, residing in Huron, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 26, 2018 at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital after a lengthy illness surrounded by those who loved her.
Deb was born on June 14, 1950 in Sandusky, OH to the late Lyle J. and Maxene R. (Fox) Muehlfeld.
Deb was a 1968 graduate from Huron High School. She worked at Firelands Hospital as an EKG technician for over 20 years, and also at Firelands as a transcriptionist. She then worked in the office of Dr. Tom Williamson and retired from Firelands Physician Group, where she worked in the billing department. She belonged to a bowling league, softball league and the New Breed Golf League, all in Sandusky. Deb volunteered as an assistant for various varsity girls' athletics at St. Mary's, and she enjoyed cooking french fries in the St. Mary's cafeteria. Deb was an avid Cleveland sports fan, and enjoyed golfing, boating, and fishing. She inherited from her mother a love for all animals, especially cats. "Bub" will be greatly missed.
Deb is survived by her longtime friend, Barb Ott of Huron; Barb's family with whom she was extremely close, including Barb's mother, Betty Ott; Barb's siblings, Susan (Chuck) Riesterer, Linda (Steve) May, Debbie (Mike) Kessler and Bill Ott, all of Sandusky; Barb's nieces and nephews; Barb's great nieces and nephew; longtime friends, Donna Brown and Ken Mazik of FL, Pat Zimmerman and Kathy Enouen, both of Sandusky; cousins, David (Laura) Strom and their son, Andrew of NJ and their daughter, Denah (Kym) Johnston of San Fransico, Kris Strom of Cleveland, and Erik Strom of Sandusky; numerous other friends and teammates; and two beloved cats, Maxie and Sammie.
In addition to her parents, Debra is preceded in death by her grandmother, Helen Strom; aunt, Joanne Chromey; uncle, David Strom.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Father Dave Nuss will officiate. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
