Thomas "Butch" Leroy Arrington, 77, residing in Sandusky, was called to eternal rest on Monday evening, July 30, 2018 at Stein Hospice Care Center.
Thomas was born on February 21, 1941 in Van Buren, AR through the union of the late Howard Johnson and Alfreida Webster-Byrdsong.
Thomas retired from the New Departure Plant (GM) and the Sandusky Library. Thomas was a member of Greater Faith Church as well as the Progress Lodge #85 Sandusky of Free & Accepted Masons, the ShrinerTemple El Hasa Temple #28 of Cleveland, Northern Brotherhood Motorcycle Club of Sandusky and the Progressive Gents Club.
Thomas leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 55 years, MaryFrances (Allen) Arrington. Thomas was also a devoted father to Rona (Gordon) Sherman of Cincinnati, James (Tracey) Arrington of Savannah, GA, Quiana "Nikki" (Richard) May of Sandusky, Terrance "Monty" Monegan of Sandusky and Briana Arrington of Sandusky; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Darrell Deqichi and Lamont Burchett as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friend.
In addition to his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by his sisters, Rosemary White and Willa Mae Collins and brothers, John Lyons and Ray Arrington.
The home going celebration will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:00 am with the service beginning at 12:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Pastor Darrell Gant of Eagle's Nest Church will officiate. Following services a repast will be held at The Legacy Center. Thomas will be laid to rest at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
