Bessie Mae (Valentine) Hurlehy, 89, formerly of 2033 Rohde St, Sandusky, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 at The Meadows of Osborn Park of natural causes commensurate with her age.
Bessie was born June 26, 1929 in Garrard, KY to the late Hugh and Bamma (Jones) Valentine.
Bessie had worked at General Motors (Delphi). She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She enjoyed NASCAR racing, long road trips, gardening in the sun, and being with her family.
Bessie is survived by her daughter, Terri (John) Hartwig of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Eric (Mindy) Wahl, Corey (Emilee) Hartwig, Calyn Hartwig and Cassidy Hartwig; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Archie, and Emmett Wahl, sister-in-law Edna Valentine and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Bessie is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. Hurlehy; daughter, Vicki (Stanley) Brownell; sister, Ollie Greulich and brother, Harvey Valentine.
Friends may call on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 2:00pm until the time of services at 3:00pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Pastor Wally Gilbert will officiate. Burial will be on Thurday morning, 10am at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
