Katherine M. "Kathy" Oney, 80, of North Fairfield, Ohio, passed away Thursday morning, August 9, 2018, in her home.
She was born December 29, 1937 in North Fairfield, Ohio, to the late Claude T. and Agnes M. (Baumeier) Reed.
Kathy was a 1955 graduate of North Fairfield High School. She was an original member of the North Fairfield Civic Club Street Fair Committee. Kathy was also a member of the North Fairfield Historical Society, Firelands Rails to Trails, the Huron County Library Board, the Western Reserve Land Conservancy, the Huron County Humane Society, and the South Central Athletic Booster Club. She was an avid reader, enjoyed baking, flower gardening, was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, and was a lifelong lover of small dogs. Kathy especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren's school and athletic functions.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gordon D. Oney of North Fairfield, Ohio, by her son and daughter in law, Bryan and Wendy Oney of North Fairfield, Ohio, and by her grand daughters, Hannah and Sarah Oney of North Fairfield, Ohio.
Kathy is also survived by her brother and sister in law, Harley and Ruth Reed of Peru, Ohio, numerous nieces and nephews, and by lifelong friends, Donna Abbott, Marge Keysor, and Teddy Wiggins.
She was preceded in death by her son, David A. Oney in 2009.
Friends may call on Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Robert Hudberg, Pastor of the Foundation Church, will officiate. Interment will be in North Fairfield Cemetery.
