Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Kruse, 98, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Monday, August 13, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born on April 7, 1920 in Cleveland, OH to the late Alice and Harry O'Neill.
Betty was a Sandusky resident since 1985 and was involved in many area organizations. She was a former board member of the Merry-Go-Round Museum, member of the Sandusky Yacht Club, Sandusky Garden Club and the Rockwell Trout Club.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Richard R. Kruse; 2 sons, Patrick D. Scanlon and Neil J. Scanlon and previous husband, Michael T. Scanlon, Sr.
Betty is survived by 2 sons, Michael T. (Paula) Scanlon, Jr. of Hilton Head Island, SC and Brian T. (Patti) Scanlon of Cleveland, OH; 4 grandchildren, Kat (Nick Poulos) Scanlon, Annie Scanlon, Brian (Marsha) Scanlon, Jr. and Patrick Scanlon; step-daughter, Christina Kruse Lecumberri and step-son, Richard W. Kruse.
The family would like to thank each and every caregiver who professionally cared for Betty.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 11 am at St. Peter Catholic Church in Huron, OH. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
