Kenneth W. Root, 71, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 in Gaymont Nursing Center.
He was born January 18, 1947, in Norwalk, Ohio, to the late Carey L. and Marguerite (Shipley) Root, and was a lifelong area resident.
Ken was a former employee of the Norwalk Foundry, and was a former member of the Dart Ball League. He also enjoyed playing golf, pool, and ping pong, and was an avid sports fan, enjoying the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Norwalk Truckers.
Ken is survived by his sister and brother in law, Shirley and Kenneth Silcox of Norwalk, Ohio, by his nieces and nephews, Scott (Janice) Silcox of North Royalton, Ohio, Barb (Tim) Springer of Norwalk, Ohio, and Steve (Sue) Silcox of Norwalk, Ohio, and by his great nieces and nephews, Bethany Springer, Amanda Silcox, Bryan Springer, Rachel Silcox, Greg Silcox, Adam Silcox, and Tracy Silcox.
Friends may call on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of serviced at 11:00 a.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Scott Silcox will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
