Albert Edward Gerber, 79, residing in Clyde, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 14, 2018 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Albert was born on June 18, 1939 in Sandusky, OH.
Al was a 1957 graduate from Sandusky High School. He was a Veteran of the US Army. He was the manager of A&P for 23 years and co-owner of Al & Tims Food land with Tim Baker of Clyde. Shortly became sole owner of Al's Shop Rite for 14 years. Al was in management for Wal-Mart for 25 years and worked for them a total of 28 years. He was long time member and past president of the Clyde Exchange Club and a member of Grace Brethren Chapel. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf, watching football; he was an avid Ohio State fan, and spending time with his family and friends.
Al is survived by his wife, Judith A. (Larson) Gerber. He is also survived by his daughter, Judith M. (Robert) King of Fremont; son, Eric (Elizabeth) Gerber of Washington Court House, OH and three grandchildren, Grace E. Gerber, Mary C. Gerber and Eddie L. King.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Brethren Chapel, Gibsonburg, OH. Service date and times will be announced at a later date. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
