Harold Canode age 80 of Bellevue passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011 at the Willows at Bellevue. He was born March 19, 1930 in Zaleski, OH the son of the late Lloyd &, Jane (Wise) Canode.
Harold was a Korean War Veteran enlisting in the Army with the 116th Combat Engineers. He obtained the rank of Sergeant 1st class.
He worked in the area as a plumber and was a foreman at Brown Industries and then worked 18 years for the City of Bellevue as an operator at the waste water plant retiring in 1988.
He was a member of American Legion Post 46 and a life member of VFW Post 1238; he was a graduate of Bellevue High School in 1946. He loved sports, especially the Cleveland Indians and an avid golfer having 2 holes in one.
He married Irene (Czeczele) Canode April 21, 1952 and she survives in Bellevue.
Other survivors include his sister, Shirley Dymond of Washington, sister – in laws, Helen Czeczele of Bellevue, Betty Canode of Bellevue, brother – in – law, Joseph Czeczele of Bellevue and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents his brother Kenneth Canode, brother – in – law Keith Dymond and sister - in – law, Juanita Czeczele preceded him in death.
Friends will be received Thursday, September 29, 2011 from 7 – 9 pm at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Friday at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
