Mary Elaine Cromer, 78, residing in Georgia and formerly of Sandusky, was called to eternal rest on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, in Dekalb Medical Center, Stone Mountain, GA.
She was born on May 23, 1940 in Seneca, SC to the late Thomas and Rosa Cromer Sr. Elaine moved to Sandusky at an early age where she graduated from Sandusky High School, and was employed by Ford Motor Co. for 30 years.
She gave her life to Christ and began her Christian journey in Ebenezer Baptist Church, and then New Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she was a member of the usher board, and later made Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church her spiritual home.
Elaine was a loving woman, full of class. She was willing to help anyone in need. Her main priority was family and she cared for her parents, nephew, and nieces throughout her life.
She is survived by her special nephews and nieces, Jesse (Vickie) Crawford, Julia Leland, Henry Leland, Julmente' Leland, Sonia Leland, Tracy Cromer, Troy (Natalie) Cromer, and Myra Aaron; a host of great nephews, great nieces, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Cromer; and a brother, Thomas Cromer Jr.
Friends may call on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, from 12 P.M. Noon until time of funeral services at 1 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Bobbie Garrett will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
