Our beloved, Donald C. Smith (aka Donnie), went peacefully into the arms of his Lord at the age of 73, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, Ohio, after a 18 month residence at Providence Care Center in Sandusky.

Local #1216. Don was a talented furniture maker, a proud and skillful gardener and he was the founder of The Good Neighbor program in Norwalk.

Don will be affectionately remembered as 'one of a kind', with a multifaceted personality. If you knew him, it wouldn't take you long to see the angel on one shoulder and a little devil on the other. He was well loved. His unique wit and loveable personality made for fast friends and he will be sorely missed by family, long-time friends, caregivers and newly made friends at Providence Care Center.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Deborah A.
