Devona Cleo (Pittman) Karnehm, 83, of Sandusky and formerly of Monroeville passed away Tuesday evening, September 11, 2018 at her son's home surrounded by family.
She was born August 8, 1935 in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania and was a 1953 graduate of Sandusky High School.
She married Donald Karnehm on October 15, 1954 in West Palm Beach, FL. Devona enjoyed life as a homemaker and self-employed antique dealer. She also liked volunteering at Stein Hospice for many years.
She spent the last year living in Vero Beach, FL. Her hobbies included bowling, antiques, and sewing. She was also a member of The Chapel.
She is survived by four children, Devinna (Kevin) Smith of Owasso, OK, Delinda (Scott) Hood of Vero Beach, FL, Donavon (Sherrie) Karnehm of Norwalk, and Dena Karnehm of Vero Beach, FL; nine grandchildren, Sarah Heyman, Levi Heyman, Brooke (David) Carpenter, Ivan Heyman, Hannah (Adam) Smalley, Luke (Mary) Heyman, Drew Karnehm, Tyler Smith, and Renee Rew; twelve, plus one on the way great grandchildren; one brother, Don (Arlene) Pittman of Warfordsburg, PA; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Donald L. Karnehm in 2006; her parents, Paul and Lelia (Millis) Pittman; one grandson, Craig Karnehm; sister, Phyllis Pittman; brothers, Wallace "Bus" Pittman, and Delmar "Skip" Pittman
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 17, 2018 from 10:00 AM until time of memorial service at 11:00 AM at The Chapel, 4444 Galloway Road, Sandusky. Pastor Dave Brown will officiate. A small graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM at Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
