Otis J. Walton, age 80. of Castalia, died Sunday morning, Oct. 2, 2011, in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.
He was born March 24, 1931, in Rainelle, WV, and was employed by Stowe-Woodward for 32 years retiring in 1996. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of American Legion Post 83. He loved to garden, hunt, fish, play cards, pitch horseshoes, and the Cleveland Browns.
Otis is survived by his wife, the former Shirley Ware, to whom he was married for 56 years; 3 daughters Joanne Walton of Castalia, Nancy (Charles) Volz of Sandusky, and Patricia (Ronald) Schlea of Gibsonburg; two sons James (Joann) Walton and Michael (Mary) Walton both of Sandusky; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 5 sisters Glenna (Donald) Cantrell, Wanneda Hinkle, Debbie (David) Amos, Carol Kohne all of Virginia, and Brenda Figueroa of North Carolina; one brother Lloyd (Judy) Walton of Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Daniel and Floyd Walton; one sister Gladys Hiser; 3 half-sisters Faye Holcomb, Gaye Pitsenbarger, and Lenida; and two half-brothers Delson Walton and Rexel Trout.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, in the Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be held at 11 am Wednesday.
