Heaven received a very special angel. Virginia I. Kent, 82, passed away on Wednesday, September, 26, 2018, surrounded by her family, after a lengthy but vigilant battle with cancer.
She was born to the late Herbert and Helen (Smith) Churchill on November 4, 1935 and was a lifelong area resident.
Virginia graduated from Berlin Heights High School and was a member of the Milan Friends Church in Milan, Ohio. Virginia was blessed with a talent for baking; especially pies as she was known for being the "Pie Lady". She loved to share her delicious pies and cookies with family and at fundraisers or events which were enjoyed by all.
She also enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles, flowers, bike riding, walking, and bird watching in her backyard.
Her real joy came from spending time with family and playing with her dog, Pebbles and cat, Toby.
She was a loving person with a servants heart who always helped and cared for others by putting their needs in front of her own.
Virginia is survived by her children, Linda (Paul) Weilnau, of Viroqua, Wisconsin, Laura (Chris) Shample of Norwalk, Ohio, and Reuben (Jennifer) Kent, of Norwalk, Ohio, by her grandchildren who were the love of her life, whom she referred to as her "Sweetie Pies", Brenda, Melissa, Lexi, and Josie.
She is also survived by her sister Carol (Daniel) Genaway, of Butler, Pennsylvania,, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, John P. Kent, in 2014, by her brothers Clifford, Melvin, and Myron Churchill.
Friends may call on Friday, September 28, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St. Norwalk, Ohio 44857. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Milan Friends Church, 2018 Mason Rd. E Milan, Ohio 44846. Pastor Paul Campbell will officiate. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Berlin Heights, Ohio.
