James E. Fields, 84, of Wakeman, Ohio, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
He was born October 17, 1933, in Clay County, West Virginia, to the late Carl and Mildred (Woodall) Fields, and came to this area in 1964 from Roane County, West Virginia.
Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War. He was a retired truck driver for the Ford Motor Company, Avon, Ohio, and was a member of the United Auto Workers Union.
Jim enjoyed working on cars, and especially enjoyed spending time with his children, and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Billy D. Fields of Clyde, Ohio, Gary W. (Misty) Fields of Wakeman, Ohio, Sherri L. Hall of Wakeman, Ohio, and raised his granddaughter, Danielle K. (Dan) Harp of Norwalk, Ohio.
Jim is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and by his sisters, Annis Greathouse of Clay County, West Virginia, and Jeanne (Oliver) Owens of Maryland, and by his sister in law, Janice Fields, of Bryans Road, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vietia Rondell Fields in 2012, by his brothers, Robert Fields, Jerry Fields, and Billy Fields, by his sister, Pearl Fields, and by his son in law, Thomas Hall.
Calling hours and services will be private. Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, is in charge of arrangements.
