Elizabeth “Betty” J. Wise, age 77, of Norwalk, died Monday, October 3, 2011 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky.
She was born November 25, 1933 in Shelby to the late Daniel L. Meyer and Mary Elizabeth Eastman. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroeville, TOPS, a card club and the Golden Eagles. At one time, she was an active member of the Monroeville Athletic Boosters. She enjoyed playing euchre and especially enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. She loved attending all of her grandchildren’s sporting events.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Urban “Joe” Wise of Norwalk; daughters, June Grosswiler, Rosanne Wise, Annie (Greg) Mahl-Van Wey, Teresa Lakner and John Koch; sons, Joseph (Brenda) Wise, Frank (Karen) Wise, Michael Wise and Mike Magg; sisters, Karen (Mike) Flohr and Sharon (Huber) Ingram; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her grandson, Matthew Young.
Friends and family will gather Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, OH, where a rosary will be said at 8:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 6, 2011, 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Broad and Chapel Streets, Monroeville, Ohio, 44847 with the Rev. William Pifher, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
