Brett Carpenter, 44, of Sandusky, Ohio passed away at Firelands Hospital on Thursday, October 18, 2018.
Brett was born and raised in Sandusky, Ohio but called many places home throughout his adult life.
Brett was a 1992 Perkins High School graduate and went on to receive his degree in economics from Denison University.
He is survived by his sisters, Lori (Jack) Brittain of Huron, OH, Stephanie (Chris) O'Farrell of Norwalk, OH and Tami (Seth) Jacobs of Deerwood, MN. He is also survived by his grandmother, several aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lynda Carpenter and by his grandparents, Hubert Carpenter and Harry and Jean Cheatham. He was also preceded by his uncle and aunt John and Betty Ehrhardt.
Brett was greatly loved and we will all miss his huge heart, big smile and rapid fire wit. He had a passion for golf, watching the Ohio State Buckeyes (O-H!) and he was a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Friends and family may call from 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave, Sandusky until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. A short graveside prayer will be said following the funeral at Oakland Cemetery and a celebration of life gathering will be announced for family and friends at the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Brett's name and honor to St. Jude, an organization he supported in memory of his mother and to the Humane Society of Erie County.
