Deborah (Carlson) Shimer, 64, Sandusky, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 1, 2018, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
She was born on May 29, 1954 in Port Clinton to the late Aloysius and Margaret (Onyock) Carlson.
Deborah loved nature, bird watching, and her Lord Jesus Christ. She devoted her life to her family, traveling to all of their school events, band competitions and concerts, and raising them with the utmost joy. Spoiling her grandchildren was a passion she never gave up.
She is survived by her husband of 43+ years, Gary Shimer; daughters, Shalene (Andrew) Wong, London, England, and Sarenne (Jeremy) Gregg, Clyde, OH; grandchildren, Alexander Joseph Wong, Samantha Harley Koelsch, and Gracie Allen Koelsch; great-grandchild, Iris Lynn; sisters, Margaret Ann Carlson, Glendale, AZ, and Edna Hofacker, Virginia Beach, VA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Alan Carlson.
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Pastor Ken DeChant will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
