Douglas A. Ott, 65, of Sandusky passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 11, 2018.
He was born November 15, 1952 to the late August and Betty (Roesch) Ott in Sandusky and was a 1971 graduate of Sandusky High School. He retired from the Erie County DOES in April of this year. Doug had also worked at South Shore Transportation as a driver, trainer, and recruiter, Erie News, and Wagner Quarry. Recently, he enjoyed his position as club manager for Camp Perry Shooting Club in Port Clinton. Doug was also an excellent autobody repairman.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sandusky, the Erie County Conservation League, and a supporter of Ducks Unlimited. He was proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda (Rupert) Ott; two sons, Jason (Gretchen) Ott of Westerville, OH and Joshua (Kimberley) Ott of Woodstock, GA; one granddaughter, Adriana Ott; one sister, Sylvia Kammer of Sandusky, one brother, Thomas (Sheila) Ott of Berlin Heights; step-sister, Barb (Roger) Newton of Sandusky, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Richard Kammer, Jr..
Friends may call from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky and from 9:30 AM until time of funeral service at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2211 Mills Street, Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Pastor Bill Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
