Joseph C. George, 60, Sandusky, died on Thursday, October 6, 2011, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
He was born on April 9, 1951 in Coeburn, VA, and was a U.S. Marine veteran.
He was employed as a truck driver.
Joe was a member of the AMVETS Post 17, Sandusky, and the American Legion Post 83, Sandusky.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Beatty; daughter, Sarah George, Norwalk; sons, Benjamin George, Joseph C. George Jr., and Carl Beatty, all of Sandusky; a grandson; sisters, Mary, Marsha and Tammy; brothers, Larry and Dan; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Cynthia (Hill) George; and a brother Allen.
Friends may call on Monday, October 10, 2011, from 2 P.M. until time of funeral services at 4 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Ernie Bowman, past chaplain of the American Legion Post 83, will officiate. The American Legion Post 83 Honor Guard will provide the military tribute.
