Melvin Gregory Doctor, 69 of Cleveland, OH, passed away at Altercare Saint Joseph in Warrensville, OH after an extended battle with cancer on Wednesday November 21, 2018.
Born on January 25, 1949 in Sandusky, OH. After graduation from Sandusky High School Melvin attended Fisk University in Nashville, TN.
When Melvin departed this earth, he was surrounded by family and love. He was an avid sports fan. He loved the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers and especially the Cleveland Indians. He lived for almost 30 years in Houston, TX, where he worked at Florsheim Shoe store and Macy's as a shoe Salesman, before retiring and moving back to Cleveland.
He is survived by three children, Melvin "Dee" Doctor, Richmond, VA, Rasheen Doctor and Parrish Blair both of Houston, TX; Five Grandchildren; Austin Blair Hines, Brooke Cierra Hines, Miles Cameron Hines, Bryce Jordan Blair, DeAdriel Tramel Doctor, all of Houston, TX; Former spouses; Celestine Smith-Doctor, Richmond, VA and Beverly Tracy Doctor, Houston, TX; Four brothers; Lawrence Doctor Jr.(Marvis) , Warrensville, OH, Richard Doctor, Richfield, OH, Leon Doctor, Shaker Heights, OH, Jon Doctor(Diane), Cincinnati, OH; a sister, Angelique Doctor Philadelphia, PA; a Aunt; Lucille Kennedy, Brooklyn, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Melvin was proceeded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Larlee Doctor and an infant brother; both sets of grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
Friends may call from 12 P.M. Noon until time of memorial services at 1 P.M., Saturday, December 1, 2018, in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870.
