Angel Louis Guevara

Angel Louis Guevara, 69, of Sandusky, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 in Firelands Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness.

He was born on January 27, 1949, in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Francisco and Guilleimin (Alicia) Guevara.

The family moved to New York for a little while and then joined their father in Sandusky, OH. Angel attended Perkins School and then joined the Army, where he received an honorable discharged on June 2, 1969 to come home and help support their large family of 12.

After working at the Lake Erie Canning Company and Wikel Manufacturing Company (now known as Sealmaster) for more than 25 years, Angel retired to open his own business, A&D Auto, with his brother Danny in Sandusky. Angel could build, fix or weld anything together. People from all over Ohio and beyond would seek out Angel for his expertise. Angel loved his profession and enjoyed passing down his legacy to his grandsons.

Angel was a good husband, father and grandfather; he will forever be remembered as our Protector, as a great Provider and for always being Present whenever we needed him the most.

He is survived by his wife Emma of nearly 50 years; his two daughters, Anna (Rea) Johnson and Lenora "Lynn" (Adrian) Brown; his grandchildren, Chadrick Johnson, Mesha Johnson, LaToya (DeMar) Moore, LaDarrell McKenzie and Noah Caston; great grandchildren, Shadrice Johnson, LaDarrell McKenzie Jr, Tracy Charlton, Gabrielle Johnson, Elijah Hollingshed, Trinity Johnson, DeMar Moore Jr, Morgan Ohlmacher and DeWade Moore; one great-granddaughter, Jaelah Lacey; brothers, Samuel, Francisco Jr., Daniel (Rose) and Freddie Guevara all of Sandusky; sisters Margarita (Roger) Ousley of Willard and Maria (Robin) Swint of Sandusky; sisters-in-law, Mary Brown of Sandusky and Ann (Steve) Brown of Georgia and a host of close family and friends.

Angel was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Guilleimin Guevara; brothers, Edwin, Joey and David; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Zach and Lenora Johnson; brothers-in-law, Henry P Collins, Willie and Charles Johnson.

The family will receive guests from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. Noon Friday, November 30th at Agape Love Ministries International, 4013 Columbus Ave. Sandusky. Pastor Jeff Sherman will officiate and Bishop Clifton T. Jones will eulogize. Burial with military honors by the American Legion Post 83 Color Guard will follow in Perkins Cemetery.
