Richard H. Morman, 74, of Monroeville passed away unexpectedly early Thursday morning, December 6, 2018 at his residence.
He was born September 12, 1944 to the late Hubert and Agnes (Heitz) Morman.
Rich was a 1962 graduate of Monroeville High School and served in the U.S. Army, 4th Infantry Division, during the Vietnam War. Rich recently retired from the Huron County Highway Department, where he worked for 28 years. He could also be found farming the fields in and around Huron County for many years. Rich enjoyed collecting toy tractors and took great pride in maintaining his yard.
He never met a stranger and was always quick to start a game of euchre.
Rich was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. John Newman Chapter 1117 of the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion Post 547.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, whom he married on December 5, 1970, Patricia A. (Kluding) Morman; four children, Kathy (Chuck) Schaefer of North Canton, OH, Kristine Morman-Lucas of Canton, OH, Keith (Sara) Morman of Fremont, OH, and Kelly Morman of Nelsonville, OH; five grandchildren, Marisa, Erin, Adam, Haylee, and Brooke; one sister, Dorothy Gebard of Sandusky; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and the many people who called him a friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister,
Rosie.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 10, 2018 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel St., Monroeville. Fr. Ron Schock will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville.
