Rusty Joseph Boggs, 42, of 822 Maple Ave., Sandusky, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 8, 2018 in Fremont Memorial Hospital.
He was born on November 23, 1976 in Sandusky to Russell J. Boggs and Vicki Lynn Smith.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1996, and after honorable discharge continued to serve in the Army Reserves and the National Guard for 15 years.
He worked at Materion in Elmore, Ohio for 7 years. He enjoyed camping, his motorcycle, traveling, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Rusty is survived by his fiancée, Melissa Pfeiffer, of Sandusky; father (and his fiancée) Russell J. (Vicki Taylor) Boggs, of Sandusky; sons, Vance Boggs, of Sandusky, and Darrick Boggs, of Castalia; step-father, Michael E. Mullins, of S. Carolina; brothers, Justin (Amanda) Haer, of Toledo, and Lance (Chrissy) Boggs, of Sandusky; step-brother, Jimmy Mullins, of N. Carolina; step-sisters, Rachel Mullins, of N. Carolina, and Delta Madden, of Lima, OH; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vicki Lynn Mullins; grandparents; and step-brother, Arnie Mullins.
Friends may call on Sunday, December 16 from 2-6 p.m. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be on Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Todd Nielsen officiating. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, with the American Legion Post 83 Color Guard providing military honors.
