Edward J. Rosino Jr.

Edward J. Rosino Jr., 95, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday evening, January 2, 2019 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Edward was born on November 27, 1923 in Sandusky, OH to the late Edward J. and Eleanor (Zorn) Rosino Sr.

Edward graduated from Sandusky High School in 1941 and was a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University. He was a Veteran of the US Army who served as a medic during WWII. Edward was a real estate broker for Erie County Investment Company and after retiring continued doing real estate appraisals until he was 90 years old. In 1995 he was inducted into the Firelands Association of Realtors Hall of Fame. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Masonic Temple, and belonged to the American Legion Post 83. Edward served as a board member for the local Salvation Army branch and was an active member of the Exchange Club and numerous other civic and professional organizations in the area.

He and Virginia cherished the memories of raising their children on Central Ave. amongst family and neighbors. Their favorite pastime was boating on Lake Erie with visits to the islands and hours and hours of fishing. For the last five years his life was enriched by residing at The Commons of Providence in Sandusky and spending time with his friend and companion Hedy Grasl.

Edward is survived by his son, James (Sharon) Rosino of Sylvania, OH; daughter, Jane (Don) Luzader of Sandusky; daughter-in-law, Chris Rosino Nairne of Mt. Pleasant, SC; son-in-law, Kurt Socie of Centerburg, OH; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Edward is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia L. (Pritchard) Rosino in 2004; daughter, Julia Socie; son, John Rosino and sister, Ruth Mischler.

Friends may call on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Masonic Services will take place at 4:30 by the Science Lodge #50. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00 am also at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory. Pastor Bill Schroeder of St. Paul Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
