Rose M. (Chavarria) Hemmer, 50, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 30, 2019 at Firelands Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family following a lengthy illness.
Rose was born on December 20, 1968 in Chicago, IL to the late Joseph and Stella M. Chavarria Sr.
Rose had been employed at Corso's Flower and Garden and had worked in many bakeries in the area over the years. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, gardening - always having a green thumb, singing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, her pets, Moose and Shredder, and her grand fur baby, Roz. She was affectionately known as Aunt Rose.
Rose is survived by her husband, whom she has been together with for 30 years, Charles Hemmer. She is also survived by her mother, Stella and step-father, Larry Kingseed; daughters, Jessica Hemmer of Clyde, Stella (Justin Johnson) Halfhill, Tabitha (Arthur Wilson) Chavarria and Samantha (Dennarius Walk Sr.) Chavarria all of Sandusky; son, David Hemmer of Clyde; grandchildren, Chase, Jewels, Angelia, Troy, Avery, Vincent and two on the way; sisters, JoAnn (Doug) Frederick and Bonnie (Chase) Elliot both of Norwalk; brothers, Paul Chavarria of Sandusky, Joseph Chavarria of Norwalk and Larry David (Melissa) Kingseed of Castalia; sister-in-law, Becky Crawford of Sandusky and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her father, Joseph, Rose is preceded in death by her brother, Albert Chavarria.
Friends may call on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:30 am at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
