Cheryl D. Grimmer, 70, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, February 24, 2019 at her home.
Cheryl was born on May 7, 1948 in Sandusky, OH to Richard Clary and Shirley (Springer) Maldonado.
Cheryl was a 1966 graduate from Margaretta High School. She retired as chief clerk from Norfolk Southern in Bellevue in 1997 after 31 years of service. Cheryl was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary #444 and the VFW #2529.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Robert Grimmer, whom she married on June 14, 1969. She is also survived by her mother, Shirley; two sons, Ron (Lisa) Grimmer of Haskins, OH and Donald (Angela) Grimmer of Sandusky; six grandchildren, Allison, Hayle, Brittney, Dillon, Noah and Keegan; sisters, Lori Gonzales of Mesa, AZ and Sandy (Tom) Kennedy of Castalia; brothers, John (Deb) Maldonado of Peachtree City, GA and Jim (Becky) Maldonado of Castalia and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her father, Richard.
Friends may call on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 11:30 am. Deacon Jeff Claar will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
