Easter (Coomer) Jones, 80, residing in Milan, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 19, 2019 at her home after a prolonged illness.
Easter was born on April 17, 1938 in Allock, KY to the late Bradley and Elizabeth (Spencer) Coomer.
Easter was a member of the Milan Edison United Methodist Church. She was an avid animal lover. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and doing puzzles. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Easter worked for the USPS for 31 years and is also known as the first female letter carrier in Wooster, OH in 1968.
Easter is survived by her daughters, June (Victor) Gotham of Millersburg, OH and Esther (Jim) Strauss of Smithville, OH; sons John (Sherry) Jones of Sardinia, OH, Paul (Susan) Jones of FL and Roger (Shelly) Jones of Milan, OH; 19 grandchildren; several great and great great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Coomer and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Easter is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Roosevelt Jones in 2002; her infant granddaughter, Grace and six siblings.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory Milan Chapel, 1 S. Main St., Milan. Funeral services will be held in the Milan Edison United Methodist Church, 10 E. Church St., Milan on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 10:30 am. Pastor Barbara Stephens-Rich will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Township Cemetery, Holmesville, OH at 2:00 pm.
