Donald L. Bleile, age 74, of Norwalk, died Friday, October 28, 2011 in Norwalk after a brief illness.

 

He was born April 30, 1937 in Norwalk and was a graduate of St. Paul High School and served in the US Army during the Korean conflict.  He worked alongside his family at Paul E. Bleile Company, and then started Bleile Supply in Norwalk.  He continued his career at Lake Erie Construction Co., where he was still employed.  He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Eagles clubs.  In 1968 he received the Ohio State Trap Shooting Championship trophy.  He also owned and raced stock cars and won several season’s trophies, and enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with his family.

 

He is survived by his daughters, Barb (Doug) Might of Columbus and Sheryl Bissett of Cape Coral, FL; sons, Denis (Anne) Bleile of Norwalk and Eric (Margie) Bleile of Norwalk; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; siblings, Bob (Mary) Bleile of Sandusky, Tom (Lorraine) Bleile of Norwalk, Mary (Joe Caizzo) Bleile of Huron, and Steve (Jackie) Bleile of Sarasota, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by Patricia Bleile and Shirley Bleile; sons, Douglas Bleile and Rusty Bleile; parents, Paul and Irene (Reeves) Bleile.

 

Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.  A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, October 31, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home.  The Rev. Nick Cunningham will officiate.  Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
