Ronald E. Wimer Sr., 81, residing in Mercer, PA and formerly of Sandusky passed away Monday afternoon, April 15, 2019 at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville, PA.
Ronald was born on May 27, 1937 in New Castle, PA to the late George and Helen (Heckert) Wimer.
Ronald was a Veteran of the Navy and retired from Certainteed after 26 years of service. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching Steelers football, baseball and NASCAR and spending time with his family.
Ronald is survived by his sons Ronald E. Wimer Jr., Clarence F. (Pamela) Wimer and Robert J. Wimer; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three brothers and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Lee Wimer.
Friends may call on April 23, 2019 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
